modugroove is a new record label by lee renacre from 100hz. started in 1989, their first release low frequency overload with optimism records entered the national music charts. lee then started a record label called format records with great tracks and reviews. lee has released with various classic record labels of the 1990 s including pacific records, oblong, rehab and eukahouse. he was included as one of several london artists who were considered to have started the tech-house scene according to mixmag september 1997. recently 100hz have been releasing music with bosconi, imprints, hi phen and logistic records. modugroove aims to release future classic music with new and known artists with a passion for the extraordinary. the first release is called modulation and is a showcase of the wonderful world of analogue modulating synthesis. stealthy and deep these tracks include a new collaboration group called junction chaos who improvise new music.

ketev is the realm in which berlin based sound artist yair elazar glotman employs his unique ambient technoid soundscapes to explore the balance between darkness and light, fragility and strength, and tension and release. ‘traces of weakness’ follows up the solo contrabass lp ‘Études’ for subtext records, and continues to expand on the themes explored on previous ketev albums for where to now? and opal tapes. ‘traces of weakness’ was recorded at ems stockholm using their buchla modular synth, and processed with reel-to-reel tape manipulations including personal archived field recordings. the sleeve photography comes courtesy of yair’s father, the artist yehoshua shuka glotman.

for the second release on her return to disorder label, helena hauff taps into the dark underbelly of the athens techno scene and presents the undoubted talents of greek producer morah. a resident at athens party phormix, morah has clearly been crafting his productions skills in private for some time as this three track 12inch is a powerful display of techno at its dankest. solution sets the tone, dipping into gnarled acid electro that seems to teeter on the brink of all out chaos with fellow a-side track take all similarly nasty. morah gets a chance to show his more experimental side with up in flames, a scorched exercise in freeform electronics with some particularly haunting vocals.
